Sofar Solar Battery Storage systems are simple to install and highly flexible. Commonly referred to as AC battery storage system as this system is installed on the ‘AC’ side of any installation. The ME3000SP is an AC coupled battery storage solution which connects directly to the customer’s consumer unit. This is the reason it is compatible with almost any type of inverter or micro-inverter or optimiser system.   You can start with just a single Pylon Battery, and add more pylon batteries up to a total of 8 pylon battery units to one SoFar ME3000SP unit.   This is a single phase system. The system can be used for 3 phase battery storage, but only by treating each phase as a single phase installation. In this way it is possible to have a 3 phase battery storage solution using the SoFar ME3000sp system, however it must be understood that each phase is treated separately, and the ME3000SP unit is still limited to its maximum charge and discharge rate of 3kw.   A basic system consists of the SoFar ME3000SP controller and just one Pylon battery unit which is 2.4kwh. Each time an additional Pylon battery is added, you are adding 2.4kwh of capacity.   The So Far battery systems are supplied with the necessary cables for connecting the batteries together – the short cable sets – and one set of long cables for connecting the battery bank to the SoFar ME3000SP.   AC Charging and AC discharging programming The SoFar battery storage system can charge the Pylon Batteries from the AC power of the property. As this is an AC coupled battery storage system, the unit can be programmed to fill the batteries up to a determined percentage for any period during the 24 hr cycle.
